Shimano’s Di2 E‑Tube electric wires (EW‑SD50 and EW‑SD300) are modular cables used to connect components like shifters, derailleurs, battery, and junction boxes in electronic Shimano drivetrains. They offer waterproof, plug-and-play connections and come in a range of lengths to fit different bike frames and setups.
Two main types: EW‑SD50 (used with 10/11-speed Di2) and EW‑SD300 (newer, slimmer version for 12-speed Di2, e‑MTB, STEPS systems)
Available in lengths from 150 mm to 1600 mm; 1600 mm intended for e-bike layouts
EW‑SD50 connector diameter ~4.5–5 mm; EW‑SD300 plugs are smaller (~3.2–3.45 mm)
Cable thickness: EW‑SD50 wire ~2 mm; EW‑SD300 ~2.1–2.4 mm, allowing easier internal routing
Both support full E‑Tube communication and power delivery; SD300 carries more data/power at higher speed
Wires from both series can interconnect using the EW‑AD305 adapter
Cable variants ending in “‑I” include ties or routing clips; otherwise electrically identical to base model
Recommended installation with Shimano tools (TL‑EW02 for SD50; TL‑EW300 for SD300) to protect waterproof connectors
